Kindness Interpretated as Rude
Have you ever been kind/nice to someone you knew and it went wrong? Yea! Me too! God has the solution. I hope this blesses you:)

These past couple of months I have had several instances happen that make me scratch my head and say “WHAT??” just happened!! I am an Independent Contract Hairstylist by trade. I work by apt. only, so I have a strict schedule. It works like dominos, when one falls they all fall. So when one client arrives late it has the ability to cause me to be late for all appointments coming in! This is not fare to the ones that arrive on time.
Alright, you get the idea. The kindness you can show someone when they give you a 30 min. heads up through a text is ignore the text and wait to see what happens when they arrive, just how late are they…right?! That is not what I did! Nope!! I forewarned the person and returned the text with “I may not be able to style you out”. That you can say is being “kind”, true, NOT to her! She got cut and styled and looked fabulous when she left, but!, it was awkward to say the least! I got emotional, yes!, I cried! I don’t like it when it looks as if I offended someone. And you know what else?!? I could not stop the stinkin tears!! Well, she rescheduled, then through a text she said “good-bye”.
Now you see I thought I was being kind to her. This person was a client for 20 some odd years with me. Would it be “kind” of me to be late on my next client? HMMM? I don’t think so. The next client definitely would not think so!
You see and probably already know that “kindness” IS a fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”. As we go through our daily lives and come across people, people that have things going on in their lives that we have no idea of, God says that we are to walk in love! In Ephesians 5: 1) “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2) and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you, and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” It should not matter how they are to us! If I would have waited and not responded to this client like I did, I probably would still have her as a client. Maybe not? None of us are above screwing up!! Thank God for Jesus!! Repentance is key! You may be thinking, did I sin with this client? Yes, pride crept in! I wasn’t Christ centered at that time, I allowed myself to become more important! BAM!! That is an “OUCHIE”!
I hope this blog is able to encourage you to know you are going to mess up, even when you think you are being kind, always know God is faithful to forgive us if we repent for our failures! Scripture tells us in Acts 3:19 “ Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” NIV
